Studio brief

Gentle Collective Workspaces is a Rotterdam practice that treats the home desk as a kit of measured parts rather than a single catalogue desk dropped against a wall. We work from Coolsingel 120 with freelancers, remote staff, and couples who need living rooms to hold real work hours.

Drawings stay short: plan, elevation notes, and a EUR shopping list sized for Dutch lifts and rental fixing rules.

What stays out of scope

We do not supply oversized executive desks that block kitchen paths, nor do we act as electrician or structural contractor. When sockets look overloaded, layout work pauses until a licensed trade checks the circuit.

Landlord and VvE limits are recorded on every sheet so fixed joinery is not proposed where freestanding modules are required.

Neighbourhood stock we know

Most weeks cover Centrum apartments, harbour-side glass on Kop van Zuid, and postwar flats where party walls carry call echo. Loft stairs and narrow lifts often decide furniture widths before aesthetics do.
